Presentations
Presentations are a key part of effective communication by the CNC, allowing members and interested residents to learn about and comment on issues before the City of Boston that relate to the quality of life in Charlestown. Presentation requests will be considered if they originate from one of three sources:

-
City of Boston officials, agencies, or departments
-
Individuals or entities with pending business before the City of Boston that relates to the quality of life in Charlestown (i.e., development companies), provided that the individual or entity has already initiated the process of review with the appropriate city agency or department
-
State and federal officials, departments, and agencies with information on appropriate city agency or department matters affecting the community

Requests may be made to the Chairperson either directly by the entities listed above or through an intermediary (including the Mayor’s Office liaison to the Charlestown community). Whenever possible, presentations will be scheduled for the meeting immediately following the request.
Open Floor
Members of the Charlestown community are welcome to speak on any subject during the open comment portion of CNC meetings. Charlestown residents are first in the order of preference to speak.

CNC members may move to take further action on any issue raised during the open comment session. For example, a) assigning the matter to a committee for further action (potentially including a public meeting related to the issue), b) calling for a formal presentation on the issue to be given at a future CNC meeting, c) as appropriate, calling for a specific action to be taken in response to the issue. Any such motion shall occur under New Business and will be subject to a vote by the full membership of the Council.
